On a good note, things have gotten a LOT less awkward with my host family. They are really nice, and even better they think I am funny AND clever. The bad: I am writing this at about five o'clock in the morning. I am bone tired but I can't seem to sleep. It is an injustice. So I have been awake for the last two hours doing homework......This does not bode well for the long day I will probably have tomorrow.
Tiffany and I went to Akihabara today/yesterday! Akihabara is the electronics district of Tokyo. Basically is is this 8 floor mall devoted to all things electronic. I bought a cheap watch because I really need one(maybe if I actually look at the time during the day my body will finally realize that it shouldn't be on Dallas time), and a hair straightener(yes, I know I already have two hair straighteners, but they don't work in Japan; my new straightener is HOT PINK!!!!!)
Okay, I suppose I should try to get my little two hour nap in before I have to wake up, and stop typing so loud lest my host family hears.
In the name of the moon, and on behalf of love and justice, I salute to you!

Day 1: Oh My Lord
I don't even know where to begin with this.......I am already scared out of my mind and I think I might cry and burst into laughter all at the same time at any moment now. I might be leaning more towards the crying scenario but hey, I guess I can't complain......I'm just confused. I wish I knew a lot more than I do about Japanese culture and language. I also wish my social skills didn't suck ass and that I had any clue at all how to go about this. Living with strangers is hard....
Umm...I don't really have much to report beyond that.....Stay tuned for the next episode of Sailor X?......

The Sailor X Project
Konnichiwa!
See my Japanese is already improving. For those of you who have stumbled your way here, my name is Kiara, I am a sophomore at Yale University, and this blog is a means of documenting my summer(or month) abroad in Tokyo, Japan.
Why the Sailor Project, you say? Well, student is just the day job. I, along with my fellow Senshi of Love and Justice, Tiffany Pang(captainpuddly.blogspot.com) plan to spend our nights fighting evil by moonlight! Or at least taking Tokyo by storm. I have yet to create Sailor names for ourselves, hence the X.
Tiffany has set up an itinerary, but I have a set of missions that we must undertake as well. All set down for us by the Warriors of Legend (my Sailor Moon Guidebook to Tokyo). I'm super excited! And also super behind on packing.
And I leave in less than 10 hours....Oh boy......
